A creative outlet is a godsend to carers and those they care for.  It can relieve stress, help you cope with difficult times, exercise different mental and physical muscles and bring a little fun and lightness into your life.  These features are all yours.  Enjoy hearing creative carers talking about and sharing their work.  We hope it inspires you to have some fun with your own.

Climbing mountains

Mary Lynn Boyes reads two of her poems - Up Everest and Up Olympus, which celebrate the triumphs and challenges carers face.  Mary Lynn grew up in Wellington, caring for her mother, who suffered from a mental illness.  Today she cares for her sister, who also has a mental illness. 

For the past fifteen years, Mary Lynn has run writing groups for carers, helping them to produce and publish collections of their own.
